Insemination with own or donated sperms

At GynHälsan Fertility Clinic we can help with insemination of the man's own sperms or donated sperms. The insemination can be done in a natural menstrual cycle or in combination with ovulation stimulation.

Insemination with the man's own sperm
Insemination with your partner's sperm can be done when there is an indication that it may be if the couple has difficulty performing sexual activity, or if the man has a mildly impaired sperm test or ejaculation problem.

Insemination with donated sperm

Insemination with donated sperm can be performed on single women and lesbian couples. Even heterosexual couples where the man lacks sperm can receive help through donation.

How does insemination happen?
The insemination is done the day after a positive ovulation test during a natural cycle or in conjunction with a stimulated cycle where the day for ovulation is regulated by hormones. The sperm sample is prepared to isolate the best sperm which is then injected into the woman's uterus with a thin catheter. Usually, the insemination is painless and easy to perform.

The number of treatments needed is individual. If the inseminations do not result in a pregnancy, IVF treatment may be necessary.
