After a fertility investigation has been performed, a summary is made and the doctor suggests how further treatment can be arranged. There are different types of treatment depending on what the investigation shows. The design and strategy of the treatment proposed is always individualized.

• Stimulation of ovulation with hormones.                                                 
• Insemination with the man's sperm, or alternatively donated sperm, applies to both couples and singles. 
• IVF/ICSI also called in vitro fertilization, test tube fertilization or assisted fertilization. The couple's own eggs and/or sperm are used, or alternatively donated sperms and/or eggs can be used.    
• Egg freezing, for fertility preservation.
• Sperm freezing, for fertility preservation.
