Donation treatment with sperm or eggs

Treatment with donated sperm or eggs is an option for couples and singles who need assistance with assisted fertilization. The reasons for why this may be relevant are many, for example for social reasons, lack of sperms or eggs, reduced buffer of eggs, absence of pregnancy and heredity for specific diseases that can be avoided through donation of gametes.

Fertility treatment with donor insemination or donor IVF (eggs or sperm) is performed at the GynHälsan Fertility Clinic. The treatment is offered to couples as well as single women. We have no waiting times for treatment with donated gamete cells; eggs and sperm are available.

Donated gamete cells are handled in accordance with current legislation, which indicates that only known donors may be used. This means that the child of a mature age has the right to get information about his or her genetic origin.

Sperm Bank
GynHälsan Fertility Clinic/Minerva Fertility collaborates with Seattle Sperm Bank and the European Sperm Bank, donated sperm can be obtained from them. We also have our own sperm bank in Uppsala, Minerva Sperm and Egg bank, which is located in close proximity to the GynHälsan Fertility Clinic. In the local sperm bank there are donated gamete cells from Sweden available.

Egg Bank
GynHälsan Fertility Clinic/Minerva Fertility collaborates with First Egg Bank, donated eggs can be obtained from them. We also have our own egg bank with frozen eggs, Minerva Sperm and Egg Bank, which is located in close proximity to the GynHälsan Fertility Clinic. In the local egg bank there are donated gamete cells from Sweden.
